Studio Favorites: Why We Love Photographing Honey Birdette

When clients ask us where to shop for lingerie, there are always a few brands that come to mind. Honey Birdette is one of them.

You absolutely don’t need expensive lingerie to have beautiful boudoir photos. We’ve photographed incredible outfits from Amazon, local boutiques, big-name retailers, and just about everywhere in between.

That said, when a client brings in a Honey Birdette set, Victoria and I usually get a little excited.

There’s just something about it.

The Quality Is Easy to Notice

The first thing that stands out is the quality.

Honey Birdette pieces feel well made. The fabrics have some weight to them, the construction feels solid, and you can tell they’re designed to hold up rather than just look good for one wear.

That doesn’t mean a more affordable outfit can’t look amazing. Every client has a different budget, and the price tag inside your lingerie has nothing to do with whether you’ll look incredible in your photos.

There is, however, a noticeable difference when you see and feel a Honey Birdette set in person.

It’s All in the Details

Their pieces are often incredibly intricate.

You’ll see chains, metal rings, embroidery, hardware, and all kinds of small details that add visual interest. Those metallic elements also reflect light beautifully, which gives the outfit a little extra dimension in photographs.

And, honestly, they add a certain level of sexiness without the outfit needing to feel overly revealing.

The details do a lot of the work.

The Straps Photograph Beautifully

Honey Birdette uses a lot of straps in its designs, and we love the way they photograph.

Those lines naturally draw attention to the body, frame curves, and create shape. They make an outfit feel more interesting from different angles and give us more to work with when posing and lighting.

Instead of just sitting on the body, the pieces feel like they were designed to accentuate it.

The Colors Stand Out

Another thing Honey Birdette does really well is color.

Their shades are often bold, rich, and vibrant. They catch your eye immediately and look especially beautiful against the darker, moodier style of our studio.

Even when the design itself is detailed, the colors still feel polished rather than overwhelming.

It’s Definitely an Investment

Honey Birdette isn’t the least expensive place to shop, and we know lingerie can add up quickly, especially when you start adding matching garters, stockings, or accessories.

The good news is that they do run sales, so it’s worth keeping an eye out if you’re trying to stay within a certain budget.

We’ve also had a client tell us she’s found unworn pieces through resale sites like eBay for less. As with anything purchased secondhand, just pay close attention to the listing, sizing, condition, and return options before ordering.

Is It Worth It?

That really depends on what you’re looking for.

You don’t need Honey Birdette to have an amazing boudoir session. Fit, comfort, styling, posing, and lighting will always matter more than the label.

But if you’re looking for something that feels luxurious, has incredible detail, photographs beautifully, and feels a little extra special, it’s easy to understand why so many people love the brand.

We’ve only photographed a handful of clients wearing Honey Birdette so far, and many of those clients have chosen to keep their images private. Even so, the outfits themselves have made an impression every single time.

Our Final Take

Honey Birdette is one of those brands that feels just as special in person as it looks online.

The quality is there. The details are beautiful. The colors stand out. The straps and hardware create incredible visual interest. Most importantly, the pieces tend to fit and flatter the body really well.

It’s not a requirement for a beautiful session, but it’s absolutely a brand we get excited to see walk through the studio door.

And whether you bring Honey Birdette, a favorite Amazon find, something you already own, or an outfit you picked up on sale, we’ll help you style it in a way that feels like you and photographs beautifully. Curious to see their latest collections? You can browse Honey Birdette's current lingerie, sleepwear, and accessories on their website. We aren't affiliated with the brand, we simply love recommending pieces that photograph beautifully.

Studio Favorites is our ongoing series highlighting lingerie brands, accessories, and wardrobe pieces we've loved photographing in the studio. These aren't sponsored reviews, and we don't receive compensation for recommending any of the brands we feature. They're simply products we've genuinely enjoyed working with.
